Our 2010 training group met at the Serra Retreat in the hills of Malibu overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The Serra turned out to be a fabulous location for our annual training, and we'll surely be there again in 2011. We did make it down to the beach for "sand tray" day and our dinner party and bonfire at the home of Dr. Daniel Hillman (Karen's dad).

The 2010 training group was a bit larger this year, with 20 international therapists participating in our intensive five-day program. The students travelled from Italy, Japan, Mexico, West Virginia, North Carolina, and various parts of California because of their interest in Violet Oaklander Ph. D. and her books Window to Our Children (1978) and Hidden Treasure: A Map to the Child’s Inner Self (2006).

Now semi-retired in Los Angeles, Dr. Oaklander met with students at Dr. Hillman’s
home for a Q&A and book-signing, and she was guest of honor for our celebration
on the beach. Violet's son and daughter-in-law joined us as well -- both are very involved in the Violet Solomon Oaklander Foundation (VSOF) -- a non-profit corporation that has been created to further Dr. Oaklander’s work in the United States and abroad.
